Hurricane Dorian

Post by wabsey11 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 6:31 am

Evening, hope all is well.

Curious if how you all made it through Dorian last evening? Hopefully with a steaming bowl of Turkey soup and a warm body next to you. Sharing some warmth.

Wasn't overly bad out Spryfield way, just ouside of Halifax. A few trees down, but sitting tight.

A few trees down across wires here, but minimal damage. Almost no damage in my area of heaven.
But on a better note, Managed to get half a tree of Ash. Beautiful wood. Smells better then I imagined it would. Though I didn't think of what the smell of Ash would be of..

Enjoying some Fireball whiskey this evening and saying, "good night," and a pleasant evening.
Hopefully you all made it through with minimal damage. Take care.

It looks like both you and Wayne made it through without much damage.

This is true. Better then most, though I have learned I need to get new board games.

I predicted we would get hit by a hurricane this year. Damn obvious in my opinion.

Here is where I step up. I predict another one for next year.

Just putting it here for posterity.

in the mean time, this is a half an hour of seeing what a Category 5 actually looks like, being inside it. The finger of god.

You are making a argument against where you have chosen to live, a strong argument. Don't let the irony of that escape you, though I am sure you will do better than most ;) .
Its clear from the vid, nature batts last. Ill catch up on your blog when the snow flies.

My wife is from the Prospect area here in Scotia, and I would hate to see what will happen with a 20 foot storm surge, and tack a high tide just for good measure. All of the small towns, coastal village and hamlets, would not fair well. As well as the over seas ones did, and they were wiped off the map. But C'est la vie.

Also C5, best of luck finding the right fit for your container home. I only wish I was wealthier to send some tips your way. But again, C'est la vie eh. Great job on the articles. Adaptation will be the way.

Off topic, but I had a crazy dream about storing rice last night, and the fight to keep the bugs out was insane, It was impossible. To travel with it couldn't happen. Weird, anyway the best to you and Mrs. C5.

And you take care as well peppercorn.
