Re: Master Maintenance List

I use the CCDC Master format for home maintenance and structure. It helps break down each item and brings to light things that I hadnt thought of before. That means maintenance, ongoing repairs, upgrades or future projects or just being aware and keeping it in mind. I have a separate system food/sup...

Re: Watch

Mine is a Seiko Kinetic; winds itself whenever your arm moves. If your arm stops moving because you died, well then you've got all the time in the world, haven't you. I would never rely on my smart phone, what with the possibility of the battery running down if I couldn't charge it. I also prefer w...

Re: Watch

Who still wears one. If so, is it just a watch or have you succumbed to the apple style do everything. Personally I'm still just a regular watch guy. Have 7 or 8 of them. Mostly cheaper timex. Very seldom buy new. So whats riding on your wrist? I am an avid horologist! :) My sports watch is a Garmi...

Is The COVID Response Shuttering The Economy Worth It?

The question has been asked. Perhaps more so in the USA and Brazil as restrictions were largely set aside compared to other countries. But is it worth it? Shut the economy down, create hardships to stop a pandemic with a relatively small mortality rate? Some interesting reads: https://www.sciencemag...

Re: Is It Over Yet?

The province of Ontario is watching closely. As rates drop, so do the restrictions. The general consensus is that "if" a second wave comes it will be at least partially tied to the return to school in September. I suppose its a monitor, stay vigilant and wait and see what happens. My perso...

Re: No shortages?

Aside from items held up due to plant shutdowns that are more/less specialized (RTU's, etc.) most consumer goods are now back to normal in SW Ontario. You still can't get n95's, but pretty much everything else is stocked and on shelves. From Dollar stores, to grocery stores.

Re: Are you prepping for the coronavirus?

Crown, I think Homedics is the walmart/costco type brand. No experience with this unit at all. These are a bit higher end units for disinfecting cpap type machines etc. https://canadacpapsupply.com/3b-medical-lumin-cpap-mask-cleaner.html I see some cpap machines etc come into thrift store. Will def...
