Re: Garden like it counts (cuz it might) 2020

Some things are doing really well, others were complete failures. We already have cauliflour heads forming, the peas and green & yellow beans will be getting their first pick this week. 36 strawberry plants planted, 35 survived and are now putting out babies and starting to flower. Potatoes are abou...

Re: Is It Over Yet?

I suspect the second wave here in Quebec to be more of a ripple. People are taking things seriously and wearing masks and using hand sanitizer like crazy. Remember, most of our cases were in long term care homes...a clusterf*** to be sure, but the general public was largely unaffected. That being sa...

Re: No shortages?

Since getting into ham radio, I've had an interest in building electronics. I get all my components from China. OK, we've all been doing this for at least 100 days now.
The number of new cases per day continues to drop.
Quarantine measures are being relaxed.
Very little sign in the rest of the world of a second wave.
Is it over yet?
Thoughts?

I can ask him as he is using it to put up his winter woods supply but from what I could see, yes I think it would He was s...

Re: What Did You Prep This Week

The majority of the garden is in...finally. We still have some marginal seedlings in the house, and I will try to find homes for them once the heat passes. There were a few things that were hard to find...potatoes and strawberries. Luckily, a fellow prepper helped out with that BIG TIME...thanks to ...

Re: What has this Pandemic taught you?

Good news Farmgal, glad you a DH are well.
Lessons learned:
1 - we drink more coffee being home all the time.
2 - instant coffee with powdered whitener is an acquired taste
3 - a taste for instant coffee with powdered whitener is acquirable

Re: Are you prepping for the coronavirus?

I'm in the same boat...almost. Sometime after the SARS incident, we came across some disposable N95 masks liquidated at a local pharmacy and bought them all. 5 packs of 5. We traded 2 packs a few years ago for something else, I can't actually remember what, so we had 15 on hand at the start of this....
