Re: No shortages?

Keep in mind, the batteries/ motors don’t do well in cold weather. My work life is reliant on battery powered tools, winter is a challenge, tools in the house at night and kept warm when not in use outside.
Most digital/ battery powered gear starts struggling around 10*/-12*.

Pressure canners

We’ve had a cheaper one for a few years, have had good success with some things and poor results with others.

But I’m curious to hear from someone who upgraded to a higher end unit. Was it worth the expense? 800-1100$ for a canner is a lot of money....

Re: No shortages?

We place one order for groceries a month for the last 3 months. We don’t order much, mostly “luxury” stuff. None of our orders have been complete. Most of my family works in transport/ brokerage/ import. The office workers and truck drivers are getting sick, offices have been closed and reduced staf...

She was embarrassed. Off to the pharmacy at 9 to get her meds. Having a GP in the family ma...

Re: Quality of life during the Pandemic.

We’re really enjoying it actually. More family time, much less stress, catching up on projects.
We’ve reduced costs, but to be fair we had started working on that before covid.
Even when/ if things go back to “normal”, we’ve decided to make some permanent changes to our lives.

Re: Farming/livestock etc

Goats are as much for the milk as anything. I’m Lactose intolerant, so goat has been my go to for 20+ years for milk and cheese. My neighbour raised a herd for 30+ years, so I have a local resource/ mentors. I actually got the first set of rabbits from one of my daughters teachers, so i know the loc...
